DLTC GDPR Policy
GDPR (The General Data Protection Regulation) was introduced on 25th May 2018. It aims to secure and protect personal data for individuals.
Douglas Tennis Club Privacy Policy states what personal data we collect from you as a member, why and how it is held, processed and kept secure.
Personal Data:-
- Name
- Address
- Email address
- Phone number
Usually provided to the club when completing a membership form, using the court and lights booking system, entering a competition or signing up for a course or lessons. The information is stored on the club management software platform.
Purpose and Use of personal data
We use personal data for the following reasons:
- Club administration
- Membership administration
- Club communications
- Court booking
- Compiling club whatsapp groups
- To record transactions
Sharing your information with others
We will not share personal data with third parties, other than as set out below:
We may need to transfer personal data to Tennis Ireland – the National Governing Body (NGB). Tennis Ireland operates a National Database of players and allocates a PIN and an international tennis number to members of affiliated clubs. Tennis Ireland also provides a ranking and grading system and may use your personal data for that purpose, acting within the Data Protection Acts and their Amendments.

The Committee of Douglas Lawn Tennis Club controls what data is collected and processed in conjunction with the administration of the club.
We will retain your personal data for no longer than is necessary, and in accordance with regulation.
Your rights
GDPR privacy policy is intended to assist you in exercising your rights. You have the right to request access to your personal data and request the correction or erasure of the same.
Unless and until we hear from you to the contrary, we will take it that you consent to the club continuing to process and hold the data it has relating to you. Withdrawal of your consent may make it impossible for you to participate in the activities of the club as communication with members is central to the purpose of the club.
